I'm an ambitious but totally uneducated knitter - can any one tell me or refer me to a book that explains how to bind off to leave a stretchier edge. It seems like the side I cast-on (I usually use long tail) ends up nicer than the side I bind-off. I've been knitting shrugs from wrist to wrist and they end up nice at one end and tight/weird at the other. help!?

Re: I need bind-off help!
Fri, March 4, 2005 - 4:55 PMhi emily,
when i cast off, i usually do a row of knit 2 or 3, and increase 1, k 2 or 3, and increase 1... to the end, then i cast off... it adds a bit of ease to the edge.

Fri, March 4, 2005 - 7:33 PMknit your last row (the one before you bind off) onto larger size needles and bind off with those instead of the ones you worked the piece with.
