here's a pic of a poncho I knitted...
colombia.tribe.net/template...ext/pcard
it's very simple. I just made like 2 wide (cast 90 points) semi-long (75cm) 'scarves', then I sewed them together one wide side w/one long, and so on. and the I crocheted a 'daisies' stitch on the edges to add some weight to it cuz it kept kind of curling in.
I'm in Colombia, and I'm not very familiar with knitting terms in English. I think what we call 'points' here, you call stiches. I'm not sure, though.

Yeppers, 90 points = 90 stitches... which helps alot, as my adult child wants to have a poncho... what size needles did you use??

Re: poncho.
Mon, January 31, 2005 - 7:21 PMwhat a lovely poncho idea! i just bout some sweet and fuzzy dark mohair yarn called "night sky" to make one for myself. thanks for sharing the pic.
peace,
talluah dawn
*i plan to use big bamboo #19 needles to give it a nice cobwebby effect and join it with a few big buttons instead of stiching so i can also convert it into a cape like shrug. ;) -
